New Orleans Lodging

New Orleans lodging is extremely full during Mardi Gras, so we need to make room reservations well in advance (like right now!). While this signup is not fully binding yet, Tom needs to get a good estimate of the number of hotel rooms we are going to need. If you are PROBABLY going to make the trip (70-80% likelihood), please sign up to help with our estimate.

IMPORTANT: If you're one of those people who sits on the fence making up his/her mind, be aware that the "rules" are likely to be different this time since there is NO guarantee that we will be able to obtain ANY additional rooms once we start locking them down. In the past, Tom has been able to finagle one or two extra rooms for latecomers but we doubt that will work for the New Orleans trip since almost all the hotels book up early (in fact, it's already getting hard to find space). If you want to make the trip, make sure you sign up early to reserve a place!

WE DO NOT HAVE GUARANTEED PRICING YET. However, Tom has already looked hard at hotel and flight options, and as a result has a reasonable estimate of cost. Our current best estimate for hotel, lodging, full breakfast each morning while in NoLa, and bus transportation in NoLa is approximately $770 - $840 per person double occupancy. (Single room will be quite a bit higher; triple and quad rooms will be a bit lower.)

Tentative plan is to depart Portland on Thursday February 24 and return to Portland on Monday February 28 (4 nights lodging).

The Knights of Sparta Parade is Saturday February 26.

We will look at doing either a second parade OR some kind of standstill performance on Sunday February 27.

Remainder of time is free to enjoy one of the world's great cities.

Everything here is subject to change. In fact, although we believe it is highly likely we will make this trip it may still fall through.
